First Bonsai - Plant Identification

GollyGeeItsBooFebruary 27, 2013

Hi guys,

It seems that I'm not the only one who has an issue with figuring out exactly what sort of bonsai they have! I stumbled upon a bonsai art gallery that was closing and selling its plants, so I decided to finally pick one up before I lost the chance. However, I'm a tad confused as to what it is. The tab says it is a cypress, but obviously that is not an exact answer. Any help?

Thanks!

Here, check out this link, there are two types of cypress described on the page. I think it's a great site too.

Also, I see they used sphagnum moss as a growth medium. That is great for root growth. I'm in the medical health profession. Many may argue that it is harmless, however I personally only use it when wearing gloves.
