it's a mystery to me...

...that this beautiful flower appeared in my garden this year. It may be hard to see in front of the blue spruce, but it's about five feet tall with lily-like leaves.

The flowers are a pale yellow.

It seems to like where it is but I don't remember planting anything in that particular spot (which is not unusual, I might add) With that in mind, does anyone know what this might be...

thank you...checked it out online and it is the foxtail lily(eremurus).
