Help--Seeking French Anemone Bulbs

jheepMarch 17, 2010

Hi, all! I've been obsessively searching for White French Anemones (the ones with the dark blue/black centers) bulbs, and I can't seem to find any place that sells them. Here's a link to a pic online http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3VawqKcjpI/S0TNX5CFxwI/AAAAAAAAEEk/VslgLPVALzs/vintage_alice_wonderland_12.jpg (sorry, I don't know how to embed the link). All I find are the ones with the pale green centers (Bride, I think they're called), and mixed bags of blue/red/white/etc.

I've also been trying to find a more specific name for this particular type of anemone, thinking it might help me in my search, but can't seem to find a more specific ID than white french anemone

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance.

I guess it would be Anemone coronaria. There are " groups" of these, de caen ( singles), mona lisa, St. Brigid ( doubles)

It will likely not be easy to find bulbs of only one flower color.
Florists carry the flowers.

I am having the exact same problem jheep. You would not think that such a popular flower would be so hard to track down. The closest I found was Anemone De Caen Black Eyed Beauty.
