Five gallon bucket design

farnell(9)January 28, 2013

I just ran across these videos and found the design simpler than many I have seen. And these young fellows seem ingenious enough. I just thought I'd share the link with everyone. The videos are along the right hand side of the page.

Here is a link that might be useful: Global buckets

I saw them on Youtube and thought they were pretty goofy. They're talking about malnutrition and third world countries, and they're recommending the use of five gallon plastic buckets that are available in first world consumer societies. And everything they say is taken straight off someone else's existing videos - they don't seem to have any experience of their own beyond what they've watched on Youtube. I see on the link you provided that they've now been told that the plastic bucket wasn't such a good one. If someone had to tell them that, they obviously never really thought the thing out in the first place.
