I got this Adenium recently. Mostly, I like the trunk. I thought maybe it would be interesting to bonsai it.
Any thoughts on that? I am a complete novice. (Well, actually, I managed to kill a ready-made juniper bonsai about 10 years ago.)
A slightly different view.
And here's a better view of the trunk.
So pretty much nobody ever replies to anyone in this forum? SO VERY DIFFERENT from the C&S and House Plants fora!
I liked the trunk, visually interesting from most trunks. Not sure if its the species or this one in particular.
I think I like the second picture as a front to the tree.
You can pretty much bonsai anything that is a Tree or a bush, just depends on your imagination and vision.
My suggestion is as it doesn't look like it has too much foliage up top is maybe start this winter with a root reduction of 20% or less to start the project.
PS. I just recently joined, I think perhaps this forum just moves slower being Bonsai is a select few in the gardening world?
That could be. Thanks for your comments.
I actually pruned it fairly hard. I can do a root reduction as well. I'll post pictures of the plant as it exists after the haircut after I go out to check on things.
