First year with Allium

redsox_gwApril 3, 2009

This Fall, DH planted some Allium bulbs. Very, very late in the Fall.

Last week, they started coming up. I was surprised since these are summer bloomers, and I figured they would be late since we planted them late.

Since they came up in March, are they going to grow alright and bloom this Summer? I am very excited about them.

I think they should be fine. I am a bit colder than you, and saw different varieties of lily bulbs which bloom a lot later than spring blooming bulbs had started to emerge already.

Alliums are onions, in that family. Love the cool weather. They'll bloom on time.
