I grew this in version of the gritty. Kind of a cross between the 5.1.1 and the gritty. I'm can't wait to do another one this year. filix.
Holy moly! Look at the size of that thing! Wow!
It looks completely happy and very healthy... I'd be interested to see what the roots looked like at that stage!
Great photo, filix... thank you for sharing!
I LOVE that picture, Filix. Cool plant, and the little girl is a perfect perspective touch. Lol - she looks too lost in thought for such a little tyke.
Thanks. Thats my youngest daughter. She looks so gloomy. But she is a very happy little cupcake! filix
I knew the camera caught her at just the right moment - probably between grins & giggles - that it made her look like she was thinking about something. Gloomy never crossed my mind. She does look like a little farie princess next to that monster, though. ;-)
My GD/helper - late May - garden JUST waking up & we're planting containers
Lovely plants... but it's the cute kids that steal the show! :-)
She is a cutie pie Al! We had this one late in life. I'm 56. My oldest is 33. Luv kids! filix. P.S. Try growing that E.E. with a bagged soil! :)
I agree, a gritty mix really makes for a happy Elephant Ear!
Felix..I love those pictures!!! Especially your lovely daughter!!!
I love those EE's...I especially want to find the "Thai Giant" this year....What a beauty!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day...

One of these is on my list for growing this coming season, too! I love those giant leaves! I'll be using a gritty mix, for sure!
Here is a picture of the roots at the end of the season, with my daughter sitting on top. filix
