How deep a poppy container?

rross(NSW Aust)February 17, 2014

I'd like to grow Shirley poppies in containers. Do they have shallow or deep roots? What's the depth of the shallowest container I could plant them in for happy and floriferous plants?

Shirley poppies have a long, delicate tap root and hate to have their roots disturbed. I think you would probable need a container that is at least 10-12 inches deep.
