Tulips won't bloom

ranchergal(z5)April 13, 2013

I'm new to tulips. Mine seem to begin to form buds, but they dry out before fully formed... only one bloomed last year. Same problem seems to be occurring this spring. Does anyone have any ideas?

My hyacinths and daffodils are blooming well, if that provides any extra information.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't keep one lg. pot well watered and those buds dried out.

Lots of water for bulbs during growth.

Thanks. I'll try to water them more. I had read that they like it on the dry side... guess I'm a little too dry. lol

Dry during summer dormancy. When foliage pokes thru, then water until foliage begins to yellow!
