tulips from container to container

judyhi(6)April 27, 2013

Happy spring everyone!

I have never grown tulips. I purchased single bulbs almost finished blooming. I want to have them for next year in a decorative container on the deck. Is it ok this time of year to go ahead and transfer them to the new pot

No. :-)

Keep them reasonably watered & in sun until they die back naturally this summer. Once they have gone dormant, remove the bulbs from the container & put them in a paper bag until November. *Then* plant them in the new container.

Tulips don't like being molested when they aren't dormant.
