species tulips question

karen1earthangel(5b)April 22, 2011

a few years ago I purchased some so called species tulips that are supposed to be very hardy. They are blooming like crazy still and I love them. they are rose colored and orange are second type I have. I know that when I got it was told that they are the original types of tulips that are very hardy and come back every year. I have them in my woodland garden ,but I cannot remember what they are named or where I got them. Any suggestions? They are beautiful. Not as tall as some of the other varities that people normally have in the spring

John Sheepers carries a nice selection of species tulips. Maybe you can match yours to a picture at his site at the link below.
