Real or Fake? 'Golden Hibiscus Daffodil'

elleni(4a)April 12, 2011

Breck's just sent out an email offering something new called "Golden Hibiscus Daffodil". It looks really pretty. Anyone know if this is a real bulb? I can't find anything on it anywhere else.

Only BreckâÂÂs can bring you this very unique split-corona form we loved them so much that we bought the entire stock from the grower!...

It's a real bulb but the name is just something they made up to sell it better.
I don't entirely trust companies that sell this way, and at 3 bulbs for $20 regular, on sale for $13, I think your money could be better spent elsewhere.

The picture is of a split cup daffodil, probably something like 'baccarat'. Another more common one is cassata, which is yellow and white.
