Is Liatris Spicata just an ordinary liatris?

linnea56(z5 IL)May 14, 2013

I received free bulbs with an order. I already have liatris, but donâÂÂt recall what variety it is. If it will tolerate dappled shade, IâÂÂll put it in a woodland garden with some hostas.
Thanks!

It wants more sun than shade and moist to average water in order to flower well.

It's probably the same thing, the "bulbs" are just young rhizomes (or just plain old dried root sections, I'm not sure)
