Yaupon Holly Indoors?

ThatAdeniumGuyOctober 4, 2013

I was wondering if anyone knew if this is a good idea or not. If I did light would not be a problem unless a 1000watt metal halide is not gonna be enough. I have humidifiers I can use if necessary, I have fans I can use too if needed. Let me know I'm specifically looking at weeping form.

It will survive, but it won't thrive. Yaupon holly doesn't strictly require chill (evidenced by the southern limit of its natural range being within Texas), but it will be much happier with winter rest. Keeping it cooler during the winter (perhaps in a sheltered but unheated space) may help. It does like humidity.
