Plant ID again. Thanks in advance!

This is not necessarily a bonsai plant, so I am posting the question in the perennial forum.

My friend gave me one yesterday. He is using it a bonsai plant, but he didn't know what it was either.

Folks there seem to think that this is a toxic Solanum pseudocapsicum (Jerusalem Cherry).

In related news, you could let your friend know that all peppers are Perennial, if he wishes
to grow an actual pepper that is both ornamental and edible. I have four peppers in the house
for the winter. The dwarf varieties - like various Thai chilis - are nice and compact, and have
smaller leaves.

Thanks, Josh. Are you keeping your peppers as ornamental house plants, or are you shaping them into bonsai too? I am new to this, but it seems like there are many things that one can try.
