Hello Gardeners, Please tell me how to resolve this or is my plant going to succumb?

I'd get rid of the mealybug as soon as possible, and do some reading to ensure you're providing cultural conditions that ensure good vitality. Often, the insect infestation is a sign of a plant weakened by cultural stresses. For plants in shallow pots, the prime suspect is usually always over-watering. If you need/want more help, we can talk more.
