help with lettuce planters

acchance(6)February 15, 2013

Hello, Our preschool will be growing lettuce from seed and creating lettuce planters to sell at our spring fair fundraiser. We'd like to offer a nice variety of lettuce in each planter but I'm wondering how big (deep) the container needs to be. Obviously, we'd like to save the money by using less planting mix.

Any advice is appreciated.

If you are planting about the size of a flat, I think 6 inches deep would be adequate for the lettuce you will be growing. Al
