planting canna and dahlia bulbs now

purnima(z9CA)May 23, 2011

I didn't get around to plant canna and dahlia and gladioli bulbs till now. Is it ok to plant them now. I am in the bay area near San Jose.

You're probably still in time to plant the Gladiolus. They are often planted at four-week intervals to get a flowering succession.

So long as the soil for your Dahlias and Cannas is rich and holds moisture well - and you can feed/water through the coming heat, then they 'should' be fine to plant out.

Planting them now should still be fine. We are still having March weather in May. Al
