Transplanting Daffodils?

bon_j(z6PA)June 3, 2011

I want to dig them up and save them until fall to transplant. Is this possible without killing them? I read somewhere that you should wait at least 8 weeks or until the stem turns brown. It has definitely been 8 weeks and they are just starting to turn yellow.

8 weeks has been plenty of time and it isn't necessary for you to have to wait any longer in spite of how the foliage looks. Some places (like the American Daffodil Site I think) suggest waiting just six weeks as a minimum before digging them.
