Anemone blanda and gophers

rosefollyOctober 28, 2011

Does anyone know if gophers will eat Anemone blanda, or will they leave it alone? I have thought of planting a stream of these all in blue running down a summer-dry hillside, but it is in prime gopher territory. I will skip it if gophers will eat them.

It's been said that gophers will eat Anemones.
And they 'won't' eat Agapanthus. Nor Narcissus.

Dwarf Agapanthus would tolerate the dry slope and give a later ribbon of blue.

Dwarf daffodils (perhaps white - either regular or hoop petticoat such as 'Nylon') could provide a foil for the munchers and cope with the summer dry. They usually come through either before or same time as A blanda in my area.
