Will my Crocus Sativus flower?

chrissyboiOctober 31, 2010

I bought them mail order from a reputable firm and they looked flowering-size but have sent up a load of foliage and no sign at all of flower bulbs. Am I being impatient (they've been at this stage for about three weeks now) or are they blind?

Hi chrissyboi,

Taken from the link below:
In October, the flower-bud & short rigid crocus-grass appear just about simultaneously on Crocus sativas.

Possibly they are confused this fall, after having been dug, stored and than planted. I'd not give up hope on them blooming for you yet this fall, but it 'might' take them a year to get settled in to bloom.
