Where to get seed potatoes?

edweather(Zone 5a/b Central NY)January 6, 2009

I'm thinking about growing potatoes this year. I grew them about 10 years ago and had good results. Any suggestions on where to get seed potatoes? I got them from Gurney's back then, and there is one place here locally that used to sell them, but not sure if they are selling them this year. Thanks.

I get my seed potatoes from Irish Eyes Garden Seeds out of Washington. I have always gotten good seeds from them and a great Harvest.I mainly grow Red Pontiac and they get huge, if you can wait that long. lol Me I love the baby ones too.
There e-mail address is www.Irish-Eyes.com They have a nice catalog with lots of info.

Where to buy seed potatoes?

Walmart and Home Depot, Lowe's Garden Center, local Co-op, farm and feed store, plus several online seed sources available. Around here even the local grocery stores offer them for sale around planting time.

Check the link below. I have no affiliation with them but know them to be an EXCELLENT grower of seed potatoes. It is a family owned operation that has been growing spuds for at least 2 generations. I have also toured their facility and was very impressed with their attention to detail and product quality. Order early to get the best selection, some varieties (they have alot) may already be out.
