when to plant in north of philly 6-B

kimpa(z6b PA)October 13, 2011

I just received a big Scheepers order. The instructions say to wait until after first freeze and ground is under 55 degrees. And to store them in dry, airy area until then.

Is that what you do? Anyone plant early with good results? I have lots of alliums, some daffodils, winter aconite and crocus. I would love to get them in this nice to be weekend.

Any opinions? Thanks!

I think that this weekend would be a perfect time to plant.

I am of the notion anymore that it is a lot better to maybe plant a little early, that to wait and be late in getting things planted. It's time for me to start planting here in Indiana, but I'm waiting until 2 orders arrive yet. Hopefully they will arrive any day now.
