self-watering tomato container in Texas, DFW area
5 years ago, we made some Earth-Tainers. The vinyl bins didn't last long in the blazing sun. Now I'm looking at some UV-resistant commercial systems. AFAIK, the only one available locally is the Emsco planter at Lowe's. It only holds 2 gallons of water, and I'm not sure if that would last a day for a tomato plant. (I haven't checked too many places, but these were not available the last time I looked)
there are several listed at Gardener's supply online.
