Need some help on choosing plants

amyinms(9 coastal MS)April 4, 2007

My stepmom is a part time gardener but has to have surgery on both hands this year for carpel tunnel and arthritis

I would like to find some good plants I can take up to her and plant. The area I am trying to plant is in WV zone 6ish on a fairly steep hillside so something spreading and low maintainence would be great maybe bulbs?

I wont be going until mid/late May so what would you think would do well?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks so much

Rather than posting this question here, you might want to try posting it on the Virginia area forum. I'm sure there are lots of people there who could give you some good advice.

Bulbs would make pretty accents but they won't hold the slope together. How about daylilies for that slope? the naturalizing type of daylilies would do great on a slope, need very little maintenance and would multiply like crazy over the years. When they are blooming they are spectacular and even when they aren't, the leaves are pretty.
