Quick! How to ship cacti & succulents

sebastian(8-9)September 22, 2007

I have a bunch of these to ship and realized that I have not shipped this kind of plant before. Do I drop them in plastic baggies, paper bags, etc. Some are rooted, others are leaves and cuttings.

I would appreciate your advice on this.

I'm not certain, but here is my 'guess.' Certainly not the whole thing in a baggie. The cut end/roots wrapped in moist paper toweling only and they that wrapped in plastic.

At this time of year anything totally enclosed within plastic would likely be mush in couple of days.

Most cacti and succulents can be wrapped in dry newspaper or paper bags. The cuttings don't need to be moist. Cactus actually need to air dry and harden off for a few weeks before planting.
