help with hens and chicks in shallow dish.

octennessee(7)December 24, 2007

I have some HENS AND CHICKS in a saucer planter that is maybe two inches deep and does not drain well. Will they freeze and die outside in that dish? The other option is to bring them inside where they get only artificial light w/ sunlight through the window only when i move them in front of our glass door (in our way most days).

What sounds like a better option?

They are inside right now but they are turning very white and the normally upright "petals" are turning downward - although they don't look dead - the bottoms are somewhat rotting.

Help!

This is normal, mine do the same every year. Though we are not in the same zone, we are not that far off. I leave mine outside all year in pots (some shallow) and MOST of the time I do not have a problem.
