Cocoa shells for containers

fireduck(10a)May 18, 2014

Has anybody used cocoa shells for an ingredient in potting mixes? I saw the product...and it looked good to me. Then, I read that some people say it is prone to growing mold when used as a mulch. Not sure why that would be???

I read about the mold as well, but more importantly they are very poisonous to dogs - not good anywhere if you have one or in the front yard if the neighbors walk by..
