wet weather spring in yard causing wet problems, help!!
We have a wet weather spring at the edge of our yard where it meets the woods, in the early spring time, it begins to flow with almost every rain we receive. It causes that area of the yard to remain wet and when there is a lot of rainfall, it develops into a small stream. The problem is, there are at least 3 power/utility type lines that run immediately under that area, creating a problem for us to dig down and put in drainage pipes at the source, and the immediate area, however, the lines do not disect the area after that. We have considered a French Drain, etc. We're looking for the most affordable means to solve this problem. I recently read about the lasagne type gardening..I'm wondering if we could just lay the perforated pipe on top of the low spot where the pipes cross underneath the ground..continue running some perforated pipe at a lower grade across the yard, haul in small rock and dirt to place on top, WOULD that allow the water to enter the drain pipe, and flow across the yard, and then we could simply plant on top of the new hauled in dirt? What are your thoughts on this problem?
