Should pepper pots stay on ground or on bricks
We are having a VERY rainy season so far, and my peppers seem to be struggling with moisture control. Some of them are in 5-1-1 mix and others in Fafards 52 mix. I liquid feed with foliage pro.
As of now I have the containers sitting on the ground, most of them sit on gravelly driveway, but some of the pots sit on grass (do not picture lush beautiful lawn...see pic below).
Would it be better if these pots were set on a couple of bricks instead? Is this going to help drainage? I keep imagining a perched water table if I set them onto bricks, but at the same time I am feeling that the substrate around the holes of the pots is adding cool moist conditions...and not assisting in proper water movement.
Also, I was wondering if the air flow that would occur once a couple of bricks were placed under the pots would help dry the pots out quicker.
