summer harvest for cabbages/broccoli?

kawaiineko_gardener(5a)June 9, 2013

I realize that I'd be getting a late start, but I'm wondering if I could grow broccoli and cabbage now via direct sowing and get a harvest or will they bolt?

The varieties I have are heat tolerant/bolt resistant.

If I start them now, they'd be harvested in about August; will it be too hot for them?

I realize I live in northern MI and that the heat is milder here, but it's still hot here in July and August.
