advice for NOOBS! how to learn and grow

kiki_thinkingMay 5, 2011

I'm a newbie here, and something I learned might apply to anyone looking to change how they plan their surroundings.

KarinL mentioned to me that I should stop planting trees AT places in my yard, like next to the mailbox or next to the gas meter and instead make sure (in my case) that I was paying attention to their position relative to the house, not relative to the mailbox. And now I realize that I have done that all my life, plunked plants near objects - and sometimes I get a really pretty small area out of it, but never a lovely view. Simple yes, obvious to me until now, no.

Always try to think from big to small, from concept to detail, from reason to selection.
