Need help with new home landscaping.

lily5(6)May 24, 2014

We had this landscape installed last summer and to me it is a bit plain. The landscape company will be back soon to replace all of the plants that didn't come back and for mulching. I am mostly concerned with the front of detached garage and the area of the weeping cedar in front of house garage. I would love some ideas of how to make it come together better. I don't like the weeping cedar placement or the serviceberry on far side of garage.

I like the Weeping Cedar but would never want one in that location. I would not want my car under it.

"I don't like the weeping cedar placement or the serviceberry on far side of garage." But say WHY so we know what you're trying to achieve or avoid.

I think they look sloppy. Not inviting. I would like more symmetry in the entire landscape. A more pulled together and inviting feel.
Thanks for any advice.

Everything is so small, the lack of "invitingness" does not really show up. That a plant looks "sloppy" is because it is not yet cultivated and "tuned up." Where the plantings reach out and pinch where the drive enters the parking space is what will ultimately seem uninviting.
