Garlic stems mildewy, what do I do with them?
My garlic is falling over, and I thought that was normal--so I'm hoping that part is right. I've never grown garlic before, so I pretty much have no idea what I am doing. But I have a little mildew at the base of the stems (mildew always gets the better of me towards the middle/end of summer, with our moderate temps and humid climate). Anyway, what do I do with them? Are they no good if they have a little mildew on the stems? If I harvest them now, what do I do with them? I don't know anything about storing garlic or whatever you do after pulling them.
