Talavera Pots for Southwest Backyard

happs(Arizona)June 4, 2011

I have a small 1000sq ft southwest style (rocks, small pond, ficus trees, pygmy palms and a couple queen palms) saltillo tile and rock backyard in the Phoenix metro area and was wondering what kind of pots would be best to add decoration to the backyard? It seems like most people have brown or clay colored pots. I have some, but they don't hold up to the elements and they look kind of ordinary/generic to me. I have two 13"x13" Talavera flower pots that I use inside for decoration and was wondering if they would go well outside? Would they stand up to the heat and elements outside? I'm trying to find some pots, planters, or other decorative pieces that would accent an otherwise master planned backyard.

Armstrong Nursery here in California sells Talavera pots for outside. Maybe you could google Talavera and find info regarding outside use.
