SWC for fall in northern California?

lacanchita(9b)September 9, 2013

Hi everyone. I have been reading and implementing ideas from here since March but this is my first post.

First I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for all of the information, experimentation and collaboration that they have shared on this site. It was very helpful for us this summer as we tried out our first container garden and our first SWC's.

I am trying to plan our garden for fall (and hopefully through winter) but I can't find any information on growing fall crops like broccoli, beets, turnips, leeks, etc in a SWC. Has anyone tried it or have any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Dawn

I have a plan to use Alaska Grow buckets in my green house next year. I have real problem with fusarium wilt in my garden, so a new green house and AGBs will I hope be an answer.
Using the basic idea you could modify the bucket size to suit the plants.

Here is a link that might be useful: Alaska Grow Buckets.
