How do you eliminate bugs from Large Containers?

lightning96(4)September 12, 2011

I have a beautiful Musa tree that has been spending the summer outdoors. It's getting much colder now, but I am stumped about how to eliminate any bugs that might be lurking in the soil as the container is so BIG.

For my smaller plants, I soak them in lukewarm water for 15 minutes. How in the world do you approach containers that are large?

Any help is MUCH appreciated!!!!

Anything that has made a home in there over the summer! Pill bugs, ants, centipedes, fungus gnats, beetles... among others. I don't know that there are any bugs in the container, but the chances that there are some is pretty good. I don't want to find out after I've already moved the tree to my living room.
