Preparing Plants for Shipping

remy_gwApril 7, 2008

Hi all,

I just put a post on the Plant Exchange Conversation board about how to prepare plants for shipping with a link to a photobucket album. I figure since this forum gets more traffic I would post a link to my other post. : )

Thank sweetie for taking the time to take pics, and explaining (saw that when I clicked on each individual pic) that. I know mine sure didn't look like that when I sent my end to you when we traded. Sorry.... That extra fold when rolling sure does make a difference. I utilized it this eve, after viewing your pics.

I packed some short (just emerged) very delicate trilliums today. I wrapped the little rhizomes in moisture, and plastic, and then slid this into a cardboard toilet paper tube, b4 packaging them with some irises to mail out.

I've seem so many nifty little tricks over the years.

Sue...who is still learning how to pack a mean box.

Sue,
I'm glad you liked the post. I'm not sure when I figured out the fold helped, but it does. Your idea of packing something small and delicate into a TP cardboard roll is a great idea!
"Sorry...." lol. I don't remember how yours were wrapped; I do remember everything came fine though. : )
