What did you learn last year?

What did you learn this year that other people might like to know, too?

I learned not to plant eggplant near tatsoi and brassicas. The flea beetles jump from one to the other. Better to have a buffer crop between them.

It was dinner and dessert apparently.

Good one...what I learned is...plant cucumber seeds in early spring and fall, never in June or later on, sets small cukes which eventually smother in the high heat and humidity.
Learned a while ago, it's ok to plant part of ornamental peas along with more edible ...take a chance, there will be more to trade somewhere here. :)
Don't allow spanish needle wildflowers to set seeds or you'll have tons of em sticking to your clothes like little needles.
Always something to learn.

I learned that it only takes a few drops of dish soap in a quart of water to kill spider mites. I was using too much and it had to be washed off or it would kill the foliage.
Also i found that i could plant a few ornamental(pumpkin tree) eggplants near the potatoes peppers and tomatoes to attract the flea beetles to kill them with pyola spray.
