Which Of These Can Be Grown In Pots?

moonwolf_gwNovember 19, 2010

Hi everyone, here is a list of what I'll be winter sowing this year (my first time in doing so) and I was wondering which of these plants will grow in pots. I know the cosmos and sunflowers at least can grow in a container but what about the others?

Balloon Flower

Butterfly Weed

Milkweeds

False Indigo

Black Eyed Susan

Cosmos

Datura

Sunflowers

Scabiosa

Nigella

Forget Me Not

Nasturtium

Blanket Flower

Penstemon

Mallow

Veronica

Clarkia

Celosia

Thanks in advance,

Brad AKA Moonwolf

Thanks, Al!

That makes it a little easier of what I can put in pots around the garden.

So Al, is there anything that will not grow in gritty mix? :)

Since I obviously haven't grown even a tiny fraction of the plants that COULD be grown in the gritty mix, I can't offer a definitive answer, but I can say that to date, I've only found 1 plant that prefers the 5:1:1 mix over the gritty mix. Even that does well in the gritty mix, it just seems to do better in the 5:1:1.
