Planting in Aluminum gutters

I want to try planting in gutters this year and would appreciate any advice on this matter especially regarding what can be planted , how to irrigate and best type of soil (Please none of that gritty stuff i hear mentioned I am talking store bought Thanks

Hydroponic gardeners here use plastic gutters for growing. Most use a rockwool in place of soil. Lettuce is a typical crop. What do you intend growing? Al
