Do sandbags "keep"

violetwestSeptember 12, 2013

this is probably a dumb question, but can you store sandbags against the possibility of future use? Like in your garage-- do they get moldy? full of bugs? or something?

Just something I'm thinking of given the bit of flooding here this week, and of course, when you need the sandbags--they get scarce.

I'd suggest keeping them elevated on a wood pallet so they remain dry, and they might attract ants to build a nest, but if you also enclosed the pile of sand bags with a plastic tarp, that should work.

like, put them in a plastic bag? that's a good idea to keep them elevated -- it's also been suggested to lay them out in the sun if they are soaked (after doing their job)
