Moist is normal in 5-1-1 mix?

earthworm73(WA z8)December 3, 2012

Over the weekend I made a batch of 5-1-1 the "right way". I put some young palms into the mix. Tonight I looked through the drain holes and I can see that the bottom most layer of bark is moist (wet?) I can still see the glistening of moisture on the bark. Normal right? That's not perched water right?

Yes, that's normal :-)

If you tilt the container 45 degrees, any perched water should dribble out.

Josh,
No more water dribbles out when the pots are tilted. That makes me feel better.
