chickens & rabbits

lilbitfarmsMay 28, 2010

has any one ever kept a rabbit in with their chickens? we have a large chicken coop with a fully enclosed yard for them to go out in. i was wondering if we could put our rabbit in with them, we would make him a box on the floor to use as a house and he could have the freedom of going in and out with the chickens. i think he would be happier to have access to the yard without the worry of dogs and other preditors. how ever i do not know if it would be healthy for him.

I have had chickens and rabbits and had no problems. My bigger concern would be that the rabbit would burrow under the fence which would leave an opening for outside critters to get in. For them the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
