Has anyone ever had eggs hatch under a broody after day 24?

KellyFG(6)June 7, 2008

my broody only has one egg left, she broke the other two. It is day 24 & I've got no pips & no noise.

Is there a chance or is the egg bad?

I've candled it & it looked good but its a welsummer egg & really hard to see!

We had a hen brood for about 26 days and finally one hatched after that we got one every day but most died because it was so cold this winter. Sometimes it takes longer then others.

I have the same problem with my hens' dark green Americaunas eggs. Impossible to see inside the little things!

What the heck, give it another couple of days. Nothing to lose, right?

Good luck!
