Pictures of Vegetable garden?

lavender_lass(4b)June 7, 2011

Do you have a picture or two of your vegetable garden? Do you like the traditional 'rows of vegetables' or do you use raised beds...or maybe more of a potager style?

My 'kitchen garden' is a combination of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers all planted around a central arbor. Great view and nice sunny spot for the plants. We just added a table and chairs for more seating, but the garden has purple raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, peas, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, lettuce and spinach...not to mention herbs and lots of flowers. There are also some lilacs and other shrubs, which we're just adding. It's a big space, but a fun garden to spend time in.

While we grow plenty of vegetables for summer eating, if we decide to start storing them, we'll probably add another garden (with deer fencing) and less companion plants. Right now, the deer are not eating the veggies, hidden behind herbs, marigolds, etc...but we don't have any corn, either :)

Here's a few pictures of the garden. The edgers are still being added and the front beds are still 'under construction'. The arbor has clematis climbing up the posts and vegetables and flowers in the beds. The Lowe's buckets are for my nephew's cherry tomatoes and climbing beans...he's a huge Jimmy Johnson fan (Nascar).

Please share some pictures of your garden, too!

Hi,

These pictures were captured past week. These plants are much bigger now. Unfortunately, I do not have a yard. I am a gardener at Community gardens.

Thanks
Anna

Oooh, I love when people post garden pictures!

Here's mine from last spring (it's not quite so lush this time of year).

It would be nice to be able to mix things up every year like some of the other gardens here. I often envy that. But I took the low maintenance approach of setting everything up and rocking over all the paths so I have to do as little weeding and prep as possible.

@gardenmama, I opened an account with Photobucket. It is free, but you need to register with them. Once you do, you'll be able to upload and share photos on lots of websites. Once you've uploaded a photo, when you look at the photo, you'll see options for sharing and one of them is HTML code. Copy the code that's in that box and paste it into your comment. When you preview, it will show up as a picture.

I think someone (maybe Jon?) posted even better instructions than I'm giving with screen prints and all. You might be able to find it if you did a search.

I love seeing other's gardens! Here's a few of mine, taken on 6/11/11...

View from the back porch

Same view, just closer

From the back corner (doesn't look it, but the taller corn is over 7'...and yes, I live in fear of wind!)

Tomatoes and okra (the tallest are about 6' tall)
