Its funny how the seasons don't worry about our calendar and keep their own counsel. The top photo was taken Oct 24th last year. The next one was taken today.
It is amazing isn't it?? Climatic change I guess...the world is changing so much in that way, a bit scary really....Tina
Well, Tina, we have had a pretty long hot "fall" (and late summer too) compared to our averages. Hence the reason most of our trees are green as a gourd still. But, we got down to 28 degrees last night for our first freeze. That is about a week ahead of average. Go figure.
Hard to outguess mother nature year to year I guess.
Right now I'd trade a little of our fall color for some good soaking rains. We have just been really dry the last 3 months or so.
Very dry here too. Is that a crab apple tree? One year there were crab apple trees blooming in our nieghborhood during the fall. Another year we had freezing rain on Halloween. Mama Nature if full of surprises. EP
The red berries are on Hawthorns.
A few years ago when my kids were little we had 13" of snow and degree lows one Halloween.
I have given up trying to out guess the weather around here.
Beautiful pic, as was the other you showed us awhile back, Richard! Did you say the orange one was Chinese Pistachio?
Thanks, Rosemarie. And, yes, its a chinese pistachio. Still waiting to see how they do this year. They just started turning a little today.
