Long island cheese squash

cjtabares(MA Zone 6)July 29, 2012

I think I am going to plant some next year. Are they hard to grow? Also they say they get to 10 lbs, would it be possible to grow these on a trellis? Thanks for any help

Not any different than any other squash. A sturdy trellis would be fine, but I would also suggest that you support each developing fruit with a sling so it doesn't break off under its own weight when larger.

Actually easier than many other squash because it's C. moschata, and therefore resistant to squash vine borer. Same species as butternut.
