cabbage leaves

hello every one, i am growing cabbage for the first time, the plants are beautiful!!! this may seem a silly question, but can we eat the large outer leaves?

Sure, they are not all that good, except for caggage wraps. If they stimulate your taste buds by all means. They are similar to collards.
