This is exciting to hear, was hoping for a pic. Please show us one when you can!

This holiday is the only one missing from my cactus collection (not counting recent trade cuttings that look fine but no signs of new growth yet.) There are no solstice day or Presidents' day or cinco de Mayo cactus, right?

(Intermittently. Turn on spell check?)

Teen,

Do you mean yours is a true Christmas cactus, or Schlumbergera x Buckleyi? I guess we could argue taxonomy all day and get nowhere, since it often depends on who you ask, but I think that's the name.

Either way, congratulations on all the blooms! Sounds like you're doing something right! How often/what do you feed it?

I dont feed it! It is in average bright light and i water when dry. i meant S. buckleyi, i get confused trying to memorize the names. it is supposedly a hybrid between S. bridgessi and S trunctata

Teen does your Christmas cactus have smooth edges or spiked edges? I have the true Christmas and thanksgiving cactus, and the Easter cactus.

Wow! How cool to be trusted with such a beauty at the age of 6! And to do so well with it!

Did you have many other plants at that age?
